Our team works remotely most of the time, so we decided to have a team building session in Ahangama, Sri Lanka to build that bond between us. It was the first time we saw some of the new team members, and we were all excited to meet in person.
We chose a villa in down-south of Sri Lanka facing the beautiful Koggala Lagoon. The villa had a pool and a large garden for us to do activities together. Nick, one of our clients, also joined the session so he could meet the team that has been working on his product.
We started our first day with a game of cricket. It was a lot of fun, and we all got to know each other better. After the game, we went for a swim in the pool and played some more games. In the evening, we had an amazing BBQ organized by the villa. We all ate and drank together, and it was a great time.
After dinner, we had a karaoke session. Everyone was singing together, and it was a great moment for all of us. We stayed overnight in the villa, and the next morning we had breakfast and then a photoshoot session. Our CEO and Nick both gave speeches to the team, appreciating their commitment and the value each of them bring to the team.
It was a couple of days filled with fun and laughter. We all got to know each other better, and we came back to work feeling refreshed and motivated. I'm so glad we decided to have a team building session, and I can't wait to do it again next year!
Here are some of the benefits of team building sessions:
They help to build trust and rapport between team members.
They can help to improve communication and collaboration.
They can help to reduce stress and improve morale.
They can help to foster creativity and innovation.
If you're looking for a way to improve your team's performance, I highly recommend considering a team building session. It's a great way to get to know your team members better and to build a stronger team culture.
